Iran, Russia explore joint research in biological safety

Tehran – Razi Institute, a prominent Iranian research institution, has initiated discussions with Russia’s ARRIAH research center to explore potential collaborations in biological safety.
The meeting, held during the fifth session of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), aimed to strengthen ties between the two institutions.
Dr. Nikita Lebedev, head of international affairs at ARRIAH, attended a seminar hosted by the Iranian delegation in Geneva to learn about ARRIAH’s research and educational capabilities.
The seminar was followed by a meeting with Razi Institute, where both sides discussed a range of potential collaborations in various arenas, including, laboratory twinning and joint projects and vaccine strain exchange.
Dr. Lebedev expressed ARRIAH’s keen interest in collaborating with Razi Institute and proposed a follow-up video conference involving leadership and specialists from both institutions.
