Iran, Kazakhstan eye major boost in bilateral trade

Tehran – Iran and Kazakhstan are aiming to significantly boost economic ties, targeting $3 billion in bilateral trade.
During a meeting with Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration, Iranian Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri underscored the strong political will to expand relations and the considerable untapped potential.
"Despite our existing capacities, the current level of trade is not commensurate with our potential," he said. "We are committed to reaching the $3 billion target quickly."
Nouri highlighted the two countries' geographical proximity, suggesting a complementary relationship in food security.
Iran, he explained, could provide Kazakhstan with fruits, vegetables, and tropical products, while importing grain from Kazakhstan.
