Officials from Iran and Indonesia explored avenues to strengthen bilateral agricultural ties.

 

The Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia met with the Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, where both parties highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.

 

Indonesia's Agriculture Minister, acknowledging the challenges posed by climate change to agricultural production, expressed interest in leveraging Iranian expertise in water resource management and agricultural technologies, particularly those involving nanotechnology.

 

The Iranian Ambassador expressed his country's willingness to collaborate and pointed to the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding on plant protection and quarantine, as well as the upcoming third meeting of the joint agricultural steering committee, as positive steps towards a stronger agricultural partnership.

 

The meeting also concluded with Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture agreeing to host an upcoming visit by a delegation of experts from Iran's Ministry of Agriculture.
