Iran, Afghanistan ink MoU to boost agricultural cooperation
Officials from Iran and the Taliban signed a memorandum of understanding in efforts to expand agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
The MoU was signed during a visit by a delegation from Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture to Kabul.
The 55-clause document entails cooperation between the two neighbors in a range of fields, including plant protection, agricultural research, soil sciences, alternatives to poppy cultivation, irrigation, agricultural infrastructures, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and support for the private sectors.
In October 2021, Iran and the Taliban concluded agreements on a series of issues with the purpose of strengthening the economic relations and facilitating trade between the two countries.
