Ground broken for launch of major livestock processing plant in North Khorasan
Bojnourd – A major livestock processing plant is being developed in North Khorasan to strengthen the northeastern province's animal husbandry sector, create jobs, and boost production, an official said.
Esmaeil Mahmoudabadi, head of the North Khorasan Agricultural Organization, described the project as a strategic initiative that will increase income for livestock farmers, reduce production costs, and enhance product quality.
“The facility will be built on 70,000 square meters with an investment of 6,000 billion toman. It will have a daily processing capacity of 1,000 small livestock and 100 cattle, enabling an annual meat production of 20,500 tons,” he said.
Mahmoudabadi noted that the plant will create 140 direct and 280 indirect jobs. “By completing the production value chain, it will also process byproducts including blood and meat meal, bone meal and gelatin, as well as animal intestines and hides.”
