The northern Golestan province exported over 3,000 tons of shrimp to Asian and European states in the past Iranian calendar year 1402 (ended on March 19), a local official said.

 

"Last year, about 3.7 tons of shrimp were produced in Golestan province, of which 80% was exported to 5 countries,” Esmail Jabbari, the head of Golestan province’s Fishery Department, said.

He added, "In addition to exporting shrimp, farmed sturgeon caviar and ornamental fish, 4,000 tons of aquatic feed were also exported last year."

 "The export destinations of our aquatic feed and shrimp are Central Asian countries, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Oman and two European countries."
