Farmers in Sistan-Baluchestan produce 300,000 tons of dates in one year
Iranian farmers in Sistan-Baluchestan province produced some 300,000 tons of dates in the past Iranian calendar year (began on March 21, 2023- ended on March 19, 2024), according to a provincial official.
“Last year, around 300,000 tons of diverse varieties of dates were harvested in the province and sent to the market,” Shahraki said.
A major portion of the output was exported to the Persian Gulf region, Europe, and Russia, he added.
About 1.3 million tons of dates are produced in the country annually, 70 percent of which is used in the country for domestic consumption while the other 30 percent is exported overseas.
