Caviar export up 61percent in six months

Tehran - The head of Iran's Fisheries Organization announced that the country's caviar industry is experiencing a boom, with exports surging by a remarkable 61% in the first six months of the year.
Hossein Hosseini said that 2,815 kilograms of caviar were exported in the first six months of this year, marking a significant increase of over 61% compared to the same period last year.
He further said that the figure showed a significant increase not only in volume but also in value, with a 44% rise in weight and a 28% increase in overall worth.
The Persian sturgeon is a species of fish in the family Acipenseridae. It is found in the Caspian Sea and to a lesser extent the Black Sea and ascends certain rivers to spawn, mainly the Volga, Kura, Araks, and Ural Rivers.
