Razi Institute celebrates 100th anniversary with Intl conference on venom and antivenom

Karaj – The prestigious Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute is set to host the "International Online Conference on Venomous Animals and Antivenoms" on February 17-18, 2025.
The conference, commemorating a century of scientific achievement of the Razi Institute, will convene leading national and international scientists and experts to explore the latest advancements in the field.
"This conference, a collaborative effort with prominent experts, will serve as a platform for sharing cutting-edge research on venomous animals, treatments for snake and scorpion envenomations, and the development of antivenoms," Najmeh Mo’tamed, the executive secretary of the conference, said.
The conference will be held online via the Zoom platform from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (GMT+3:30) on both days, featuring presentations from researchers and academics in Iran and internationally.
The opening session will include remarks from the head of the Razi Institute, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Representative, and the WHO Representative in Iran.
Mo’tamed underscored the conference's regional and global importance, noting the participation of distinguished speakers from around the world. Among the confirmed key note speakers are Professor David Williams of the WHO, Professor Calvete of Spain, and Professor Leon of Costa Rica.
