Iran to begin exporting day-old chicks to regional countries
Tehran - Iran will start exporting day-old broiler chicks and fertilized hatching eggs to countries across the region after receiving official authorization, a senior official at the Ministry of Agriculture announced.
The Director General of Poultry Affairs said the required export permits have been issued for all regional markets, adding that from next year, Iran will supply importing countries through annual and monthly contractual arrangements.
Highlighting the national scale of the poultry projects recently brought online, the official stressed that these initiatives are part of a countrywide production strategy, rather than localized or provincial programs. Iran currently produces around 1.8 billion day-old chicks annually, with approximately 60% concentrated in three northern provinces.
These products are distributed nationwide, including to distant regions such as Sistan and Baluchestan, demonstrating the integrated capacity of Iran’s poultry industry, he said.
