Iran, China to boost agricultural collaboration, share expertise

 

 

Tehran - Iran and China are poised to deepen their agricultural cooperation, with both nations identifying significant opportunities for knowledge and technology exchange across various sub-sectors, Iran’s Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri announced.

 

According to Mehr News Agency, Nouri met with China’s Ambassador to Tehran, Zhong Peiwu, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties—particularly in agricultural knowledge transfer, technological collaboration, and shared expertise.

 

 “Iran and China have valuable complementary strengths in agriculture that can benefit both sides,” Nouri said 

The minister highlighted Iran’s active role in agricultural initiatives under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting the upcoming SCO Agriculture Ministers’ Summit in Beijing this August 

He also invited China’s agriculture minister to Tehran for the third session of the Iran-China Joint Committee on Agricultural Cooperation 

Ambassador Zhong Peiwu underscored the strong agricultural partnership between the two countries, noting that China remains a key export market for Iranian agricultural products. He reiterated Beijing’s willingness to expand technical and economic cooperation with Iran across multiple agricultural domains.
