Tehran – Iran's aquatic exports have been experiencing a significant surge, with shipments reaching 45 countries worldwide in just the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year.

According to Hossein Hosseini, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, the country is on track to export a total of 300,000 tons of aquatic products by the end of the year.

The top exports include a diverse range of marine fish species, ready-to-eat aquatic feed, and shrimp, he added.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has reported a substantial increase in fishery product exports during this period. Both weight and value have seen remarkable growth, with a 32% increase in weight and a 24% increase in value compared to the same period last year.

The total exports of fishery products in the first five months of the Iranian calendar year stood at a significant 68,000 tons, demonstrating the industry's robust growth and expanding reach into global markets.
