East Azarbaijan eyes role as key agricultural export hub to Europe

Tabriz - East Azarbaijan possesses significant potential to become a pivotal gateway for agricultural exports into Europe, according to Mohammad Mehdi Boroumandi, Iran's Deputy Minister of Horticulture at the Ministry of Agriculture.

His remarks came during a recent visit to the Aras Tarla Amir greenhouse in the province. While touring the facility, Boroumandi underscored East Azarbaijan's strategic geographical location, asserting that this advantage could be effectively utilized to channel agricultural products towards European markets.

The deputy minister further noted the superior quality of greenhouse-grown produce within the province, saying that it readily meets the standards for successful European exports.

He also emphasized the crucial role of proper sorting and packaging in boosting the value and market appeal of these agricultural goods on the international stage.

"Apples represent a particularly notable strength for East Azarbaijan," Boroumandi concluded, advocating for the province to regain its leading status in apple production and trade.
