Iran pistachio production expected to hold steady at 200,000 tons

Iran's pistachio production is forecast to remain at 200,000 tons for the year ending March 2025, according to the deputy head of the Iran Pistachio Association.
Jalil Karbakhsh-Ravari added that exports are also expected to stay around 120,000 tons, mirroring the previous year's figures.
This translates to roughly $1 billion in revenue. Domestic consumption makes up the difference between production and export.
He explained that Kerman province remains the dominant producer, contributing 80% of Iran's pistachio crop. Other pistachio-growing regions include Razavi Khorasan, South Khorasan, North Khorasan, Semnan, Yazd, Markazi, Qazvin, and even parts of Tehran.
Recent export data shows Iran selling $74.1 million worth of pistachios in shells and $31.9 million of shelled nuts over the past two months.
