Iran minister urges knowledge-based companies to modernize agriculture

Tehran – Iran's Minister of Agriculture has outlined a vision to modernize the country's agricultural sector through the strategic use of knowledge-based companies.
Speaking at the 25th Research Achievements and Technology Market exhibition, Gholamreza Nouri highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between research and practical application.
To streamline the process of knowledge transfer, the minister emphasized the need to reform the Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization (AREEO).
The organization, he said, must become more agile and efficient in disseminating research findings and promoting innovation.
"By leveraging the expertise of our scientists and researchers, we can accelerate the development and adoption of innovative agricultural technologies," the minister stated. "This will not only boost agricultural productivity but also enhance food security for our nation."
To foster closer collaboration between research institutions and the private sector, Nouri proposed partnerships with knowledge-based companies.
These companies, he explained, can play a crucial role in commercializing research findings and developing practical solutions for farmers.
The minister also underscored the importance of food security and the role of research in achieving this goal. "By investing in research and innovation, we can build a more resilient and sustainable food system," he said.
