Iran’s Khorasan Razavi exports dairy products to over 10 countries
Khorasan Razavi - Iran’s northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi produces 1.15 million tons of milk annually, ranking third among the country’s provinces, and exports dairy products to more than 10 countries, according to a provincial agriculture official.
Majid Jafari, head of the Khorasan Razavi Agricultural Organization, said the province’s livestock sector includes more than 318,000 head of large livestock and 157 registered dairy processing facilities, highlighting its substantial capacity for milk production, processing, and distribution.
He described dairy production and processing as key pillars of the provincial economy, noting that investment in downstream industries could increase value added, support livestock farmers, and create employment.
Jafari also highlighted the export potential of the province’s dairy industry, saying its products reach more than 10 international markets, demonstrating local processors’ capacity to compete globally and contribute to Iran’s non-oil exports.
He added that greater investment in agriculture and livestock farming, together with stronger integration across the production and supply chain, would help boost output, increase value added, and strengthen food security.
