Caspian Sea anchovy catch tops 3,000 tons

Tehran – Iranian fishermen have surpassed the 3,000-ton mark for Caspian Sea anchovy catches this season, according to a report by the Iranian Fisheries Organization.
A total of 3,288 tons has been landed by 71 fishing vessels, it added.
The high nutritional value and protein content of anchovies present a significant opportunity for increased human consumption and a more prominent role in daily diets.
This could not only meet the demand for white protein but also provide a more favorable income for hardworking and dedicated fishing communities through higher selling prices.
