Minister of Jihad-Agriculture in a trip to Markazi province has participated in the 2nd international congress of ornamental flowers and plants in Mahallt, and visited the institute of ornamental flowers and plants of that city. According to the news received from the public relation of the Jihad-Agriculture of Markazi province, Mahmoud Hojjati, Minister of Jihad-Agriculture, has stated in that congress that the city of Mahallat is a famous centers of production of ornamental flowers and plants in the world and one of the key centers of the country in the field of production and export. He also added that the establishment of an ornamental fish village was one of the approvals of the president's visit to the Markazi province, which by considering the funds considered for that project, it’s in quick progress. Thus, in the city of Mahallat besides having ornamental flowers village, they will be having ornamental fish village soon. The Minister of Jihad-Agriculture mentioned that developing greenhouses in the country is in the direction of resistive economy, and also added that we had 90 percent reduction in water consumption in vegetable production and could increase the efficiency through employing greenhouses productions. He also added that in the 1st six months of this year, 1397 (2017-2018), we had close to 1400 hectares of greenhouses under cultivation, which by considering the support made in this sector, it ‘s expected to increase it to around 2500 hectares, and a considerable growth in greenhouse production can be made.
