Production of more than 1.2 million tons of aquatic in Iran
in 2021/ Production of 2200 tons of sturgeon meat in Mazandaran

Hossein Hosseini during the visit of the Minister of
Jihad-Agriculture to the Qarahbrun sturgeon breeding complex in Chikrood,
Joybar, Mazandaran province, told that: One of the most important species in
aquaculture is the sturgeon species, because fishing is prohibited due to the
pressure of reserves at sea. He then added: At present, sturgeon farming is
carried out in 22 provinces of the country, and in this sturgeon farming
complex, as a mega project, nearly 50% of the country's sturgeon meat is
produced.

Hosseini, referring to the capacities of this sturgeon
breeding complex, stated: Forming a value chain from fish production to
breeding, processing, export terminal and aquatic feed production is on the
agenda of this production complex.

The head of the Fisheries Organization of Iran stated that
about 5.5 tons of caviar will be extracted in this complex, and added: We play
a leading role in caviar technology and processing, and yet the development of
post-production conversion industries is a very important issue in the
agricultural sector and in the field of fisheries.
