Production of 27 million tons of vegetables and summer in
the 2019-2020 crop year

The director general of the fodder and weaving products
office of the deputy for agricultural affairs mentioned that: This estimation
of the product was made last year from the area under cultivation of about
830,000 hectares of land.

Hossein Asghari told that: Production of 27 million tons of vegetables
and summer seeds in 2019 in the country, with priority given to domestic needs,
about 3.5 million tons of vegetables and summer seeds were exported from the
country last year. He also added that: This amount of vegetable and summer
seeds exports has valued more than $ 1.2 billion.

Asghari also mentioned that: Most of these products are
exported to neighboring countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Russia and
Eurasian countries and the Persian Gulf, although some vegetables and summer
products are also sent to Turkey and Germany.

 He talked about onion
and potato production and mentioned that: In the 2019-2020 crop year, we
estimated production of about 3.3 million tons of onions and 5.5 million tons
of potatoes from agricultural lands. Asghari estimated the harvest of other
vegetables at 5,500,000 tons from 198,000 hectares of agricultural land.
