Minister of Jihad-Agriculture: Food diplomacy with the
countries of the region is one of the priorities of our Ministry

The Minister of Jihad-Agriculture, Seyed Javad Sadati-Nejad,
at a meeting of the heads of the missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in
neighboring countries, stated that: Food security is one of our main tasks in
governments and the constitution, and our country has the potential to become a
big figure in food industry in Southwest Asia, but our current situation is not
satisfactory.

He then mentioned: Iran has a high diversity of agricultural
products due to its climatic, topographic and vegetation capacities, and this
unique capacity should be used in exporting agricultural products to
neighboring countries.

The minister of Jihad-Agriculture then stated that: We need
to have trade and agricultural relations with neighboring countries, and I hope
that this meeting will increase the trade balance in the agricultural sector
and move towards food security and food authority in Southwest Asia.

Sadati-Nejad after noting that extraterritorial cultivation
is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture added: To attain
this goal, we appointed Dr. Shaterzadeh as the executor of the extraterrestrial
cultivation project, so that we can expand the extraterrestrial cultivation in
Brazil.

He added that we should increase our share in the food
basket of neighboring countries, and mentioned: Our share is currently 2% and
we must increase this share to achieve food security and national security in
Southwest Asia.

Referring to the Russian food market, the Minister of Jihad-Agriculture
emphasized on Iran's effective presence in the Russian's agricultural market.
