Iran launches pilot project for self-sufficient Agricultural Production Cities

Tehran – The Iranian Minister of Agriculture announced the launch of a pilot project to establish self-sufficient "Agricultural Production Cities" across the country.

This initiative aims to bolster domestic food production and reduce reliance on imports.

The announcement was made during a visit to the 8th International Exhibition on Fisheries, Aquaculture, Fishing, Seafood, and Related Industries. The exhibition highlighted the capabilities of over 140 domestic companies and featured international participants from four countries.

Gholamreza Nouri emphasized the significance of the exhibition in showcasing Iran's agricultural potential, products, and expertise.

“The government aims to increase domestic fish production from 1.4 million tons to 1.8 million tons within the next four years, driven by the high nutritional value and affordability of seafood products.”

The pilot project for "Agricultural Production Cities" is expected to serve as a blueprint for future agricultural development in Iran.

These self-sufficient cities will play a crucial role in enhancing food security and stimulating the domestic agricultural economy.
