Iran agrifood export to China on rise, minister says

Iran’s agrifood export to China tops $300m in 10 months, minister says

Iran’s exports of agricultural products to China saw a major rise in ten months, reaching $350 million, the agriculture minister said.

The export of agricultural products to China- valued $350 million- has increased by fivefold in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Javad Sadatinejad told IRNA on Wednesday.

He also said that three agreements had been inked between the two nations. "Today three agriculture documents were signed with China, two of which is about exporting Iranian dairy products to China and one is on exporting apples to that country."

The minister said his ministry expects to earn some $2 billon from exports of dairy products to China in the next two years as a result of recent agreements between the two countries.

Sadatiejad accompanied President Raiesi on his recent visit to China. During the visit, Iran and China signed over 20 agreements in various areas.
