Harvest of 250,000 tons of cotton in 2021 in Iran

Executor of the cotton development project of the Ministry
of Jihad- Agriculture said: Harvesting of cotton wool has started in September
in Golestan and Ardabil provinces and is now being carried out in all
cotton-rich provinces.

Hezar-Jareebi also added that: This year, the production of
cotton yarn will reach a maximum of 250,000 tons in Iran. He then added: The
highest level of cotton cultivation is related to irrigated lands and a very
small amount is cultivated in dryland cotton lands.

Executor of the cotton project of the Ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture pointed to the arrival of 115000 hectars cotton harvesters to
farms this year and said: with the arrival of these new combine harvesters, the
cotton harvest has accelerated.

He acknowledged that the number of cotton harvesters has
reached to100000 tons, and mentioned that: According to the development plan of
cotton cultivation at the level of 150,000 hectares, we need 50 harvesters in
the coming years.

Hejzar-Jareebi mentioned that some advantages of machinzed
harvesting of cotton are: a 50% reduction in harvesting costs and labor costs;
a reduction in waste; and an increase in the quality of harvested cotton.
