Expansion of scientific cooperation, technology and
agricultural trade between Iran and Romania

In a joint meeting between Alimorad Sarafrazi, Director
General of the Office of International Affairs and Specialized Organizations of
the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, and Mirla Grecu, Ambassador of Romania to
Iran, emphasis was placed on expanding scientific, technological and trade
cooperation between the two countries.

In this meeting, the Director General of the Office of
International Affairs and Specialized Organizations of the Ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture, referring to the previous cooperation between the two
countries, stated that: Romania is a world leader in soybean cultivation.

Given that one of the concerns of agriculture in Iran is to
meet the needs of animal feed, especially soybeans, Iran tends to supply this
product from Romania in various ways, including barter. He then added that: Romania
has been successful in training a new generation of experienced farmers in
rural development, farm tourism and organic farming, thus in these areas,
experience and knowledge can be transferred from Romania to Iran.

The Iranian representative added at the meeting: Given
Romania's fertile land, Iran intends to start new cooperation with Romania to
cultivate crops such as: corn, soybeans and livestock inputs.

Mirla Grecu, Ambassador of Romania to Iran, in this meeting,
after expressing his satisfaction with the desire of the Iranian Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture
for more cooperation between the two countries, stated that the proposal of the
Iranian representative for the exchange of experience and agricultural
knowledge between the two countries, especially Romanian experience in drought
management, also the role of government support in controlling the damage to
farmers, is very important.

He also emphasized that: The Romanian government is ready to
provide the necessary assistance, in addition to economic cooperation, in
various fields of agriculture and exchange of experience. Ambassador of Romania
to Iran expressed his willingness of the cooperation between Iran and Romania
for extraterritorial cultivation in this country, and export and import in the
form of exchange, and reflected his support for any further cooperation in the
field of agriculture between the two countries.
