Development of cultivation of medicinal plants in an area of
​​40,000 hectares in 2022

 


In an interview, Hossein Zeinali said that it is planned to
develop about 40,500 hectares of cultivated area for medicinal plants in 2022.
He then added that: The area under cultivation of medicinal plants will be
about 20,500 hectares irrigated and 20,000 hectares in sloping and dry lands.



According to him, plants such as saffron, damask rose,
cumin, black cumin, licorice, shallot, cheese, henna, thyme, fennel, black
seed, coriander and hops are the main medicinal plants that the Ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture is trying to develop.



He pointed out that one of the most important activities
this year is the expansion of medicinal plant docks throughout the country, and
then added: We will provide facilities to upgrade the docks so that we can do
contract farming and purchase products based on quality.



Executor of Medicinal Plants Project continued that the
creation of docks will lead to the management of sales of these products inside
and its export, and added that: We will also increase added value by
diversifying the product as well as converting raw materials into processed
materials.
