Bojnurd– North Khorasan has exported 680 tons of cherries, 250 tons of pistachios, 270 tons of apples, and 225 tons of potatoes so far this crop year, signaling robust performance in the province's agricultural sector, according to local officials.

 

Ismaeil Mahmoudabadi, head of the provincial Agricultural Organization, said cherry shipments from Bojnurd, the capital of northeastern North Khorasan province, have already reached Russia and Kazakhstan, reflecting the region's growing capacity in high-quality horticultural production.

 

“Exports of pistachios, apples, and potatoes have also proceeded steadily, while approximately five tons of saffron have been sent to Italy, Persian Gulf states, the UK, and Canada since March 2023.”

 

He stressed that export diversification, value-chain development, and compliance with international standards are key priorities for boosting value-added production and ensuring a more sustainable presence in global markets.
