Iran holds talks with Kyrgyzstan on honey exports to Eurasia
and the European Union
Iran is in talks with Kyrgyzstan to export honey to Eurasian
countries and the European Union. The executor of the country's beekeeping
development plan said: Iran has the capacity to export 5,000 to 10,000 tons of
honey annually through Kyrgyzstan to Eurasian countries and the European Union.
Hossein Akbarpour also added: Exports of this amount of honey will add to the
income of the country between 6 and 10 million dollars annually.
He also mentioned that: Recently, two rounds of talks were
held between the Iranian side and the Kyrgyz side with the presence of the Fund
for Supporting the Development of the Beekeeping Industry of Iran, also some
honey exporters and a representative of the country's Veterinary Organization.
Issues such as methods, quality control indicators and
health protocols for exporting high quality and diverse honey from Iran have
been also discussed during the talks between the two countries.
