Resources and Natural Resources of the country
In the presence of the Deputy Minister of Jihad- Agriculture, breeding and
registration of 97 strains of Iranian bees, single-humped camel genome
selection kit, mass production technology of minnows and tomato whiteflies, and
the portal of the National Center for Agricultural Genetics were unveiled.
In this ceremony, Abbas Keshavarz, Deputy Minister of Jihad-Agriculture, stated
that the scientific community does not pay enough attention to the country's
genetic resources, and added that:
For about 4 years, wheat called camel teeth has been common in Europe and America,
which has been common in Khorasan for the past 70 years.
He said that the most important economic threat is the food
threat, and added that: With the good measures taken by the Ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture in the field of food production and supply, more than 75% of
the main food sources of the country were provided, which is a very good
achievement.
At the ceremony, Eskand Zand, Advisor to the Minister and
National Authority of the Convention on Biological Diversity, stated that:
Biodiversity has a wide range and starts from genes and continues to the
ecosystem, which is divided into three categories: ecosystem diversity, species
diversity and gene diversity.
