Razi Institute says exporting biological products to regional markets
Alborz - Iran's Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute has emerged as a critical center for biological excellence in the Middle East, producing upwards of 250,000 vials of snake and scorpion antivenom annually, according to the head of the prestigious institute.
The facility’s entire production lifecycle - including the development and modernization of antivenoms - is governed by rigorous clinical trials and strict adherence to international scientific protocols, Dr. Ali Es-Haghi said.
"With a scientific legacy spanning over a century, this institute serves as a primary pillar for life-saving medicine," the President stated. "Our specialized decision-making is rooted firmly in patient safety, therapeutic efficacy, and a total reliance on documented scientific evidence,” he said.
Highlighting the institute’s research milestones, the head of the institute identified the production of Black Krait antivenom as a strategic triumph, saying, “This high-tech biological product is essential for saving lives in high-risk and underserved regions, representing a significant leap in the country’s technical sovereignty.”
Dr. Es-Haghi noted that the Razi Institute’s reach now extends well beyond Iran’s borders. "The fact that our biological products are currently exported to regional markets is a testament to the international community's trust in our quality and safety standards," he said.
