Tehran – Iran's Minister of Agriculture announced that the government will revise its strategies regarding import routes and entry points for essential commodities, emphasizing that the country is fully prepared to protect food security under any circumstances, war, peace, or blockade.

 

Speaking on Sunday following a coordination meeting with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Gholamreza Nouri said that the recent Ramadan imposed war created severe challenges for supplying essential goods; However, through cooperation across all government branches, food security was ensured "without the slightest disruption or pause."

 

He credited producers and suppliers for the market stability achieved during wartime. He noted that over the past year—particularly during two imposed conflicts lasting 12 and 40 days—the country faced significant logistical challenges. “Yet thanks to cross-sector collaboration with the Roads Ministry, no delays occurred in clearing or transporting goods anywhere in Iran.”

 

"Throughout the war and afterward, the country never experienced any shortage of essential goods," Nouri said. "Accumulated stockpiles were clearly visible—a testament to the close cooperation between the Agriculture Ministry and the Roads Ministry."

 

The minister added that despite overt hostilities and a naval blockade, Iran remains fully prepared to safeguard food security across all scenarios.

 

"Through government-wide consultation, we are revisiting our strategies for import routes and the transfer lines for essential goods into the country," he concluded.
