Mashhad — Iran’s Khorasan Razavi northeastern province and Chinese partners are working to develop joint investment in smart agriculture, with a focus on artificial intelligence, precision farming, technology transfer and value-chain development, a provincial official said.

 

Gholam-Hossein Mozaffari, the head of the Khorasan Razavi Agricultural Organization, said cooperation plans cover AI-based farm management, precision irrigation, greenhouse automation and smart livestock mechanization.

 

He said a recent visit to China went beyond conventional trade, focusing on joint investment, technology transfer, localization of agricultural technologies and more efficient use of water and other agricultural resources.

 

The two sides are now developing joint projects to deploy these technologies on pilot farms in Khorasan Razavi, he said, adding that the initiative could help turn existing trade ties into longer-term industrial and technological partnerships.

 

Three knowledge-based companies from the province also took part in the talks. The firms specialize in greenhouse climate-control systems and smart livestock mechanization and have established technical links with Chinese industrial partners, Mozaffari said.
