Tehran to host intl. exhibit of dried fruits, medicinal
plants
The second international exhibition of dried fruits,
medicinal plants, saffron, and related industries will be held at the Tehran
Permanent International Fairgrounds during January 22-25.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture's public relations
office, the exhibition will be aimed at introducing active companies and
exporters in the field of dried fruits and medicinal plants, promoting the use
of medicinal plants inside and outside the country, introducing products and
techniques of traditional medicine, and encouraging marketing.
Hossein Zeynali, the director of the ministry’s medicinal
plants national plan, said a medicinal plants conference will be held on the
second day of the exhibition and a traditional medicine conference will convene
on the fourth day.
He continued that the medicinal plants conference will focus
on the products of garlic chives, black cumin, and asafoetida, which are
commercial plants in the future. Experts in this field will provide free
information to experts and enthusiasts.
Zeynali said that it is planned for branded and small
medicinal plants companies to showcase their products at the exhibition and
that enthusiasts can test these products.
He added that these companies will also offer their products
in a chain store at the exhibition and that applicants can purchase medicinal
plants from this store.
Zeynali expressed hope that holding such events will lead to
the expansion of the use of medicinal plants.
