Knowledge-based companies key to Iranian agriculture s future official says

Tehran – The head of Iran's Research, Education, and Extension Organization for Agriculture underscored the vital role of knowledge-based companies in achieving ambitious agricultural production targets outlined in the Seventh Development Plan.
Gholamreza Golmohammadi said Iran aims to significantly increase its agricultural output to 160 million tons despite a projected decline in water availability for agriculture from 70 billion cubic meters to 50 billion cubic meters over the next five years.
He emphasized that this ambitious goal necessitates a collaborative approach, leveraging the expertise of knowledge-based agricultural companies alongside research institutions, universities, the private sector, and farmers.
Golmohammadi stressed the need for substantial investment in knowledge-based agriculture to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and overcome the challenges posed by water scarcity. By fostering strong partnerships with these companies, Iran aims to ensure both agricultural sustainability and national food security.
