Iranian, Russian agriculture ministers discuss boosting cooperation
In a phone call on Wednesday, Nouri thanked Lut for her message of sympathy following the recent martyrdom of Iranian military commanders, scientists, and civilians amid the Israeli aggression.
He noted significant progress since their last conversation two months ago, particularly in implementing agreements outlined in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership signed by Presidents Pezeshkian and Putin.
Nouri also outlined a number of joint initiatives in areas such as agricultural research, hybrid seed production, and livestock and poultry development. “Many of these projects were first proposed during the ministers' previous meeting and are expected to benefit from the broader capacities of BRICS. Both sides agreed to move forward with their implementation.”
The Iranian minister formally invited Minister Lut to visit Tehran for further consultations aimed at deepening bilateral ties. The Russian minister expressed her condolences over the recent loss of life in Iran, saying, “I am deeply saddened by the recent events and extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Iranian people. I hope the country will soon move beyond this difficult time and continue on its path of progress.”
Lut also thanked Minister Nouri for his efforts in advancing joint projects and resolving barriers to economic engagement between the two nations. “I look forward to visiting Iran at the earliest opportunity to explore its agricultural potential firsthand.”
