Iran’s tea export increases 38 percent
Tehran - Iran has exported 11,291 tons of tea worth nearly $13 million since the beginning of the year, a 38 percent rise compared to the same period last year, according to the head of the Iran Tea Organization.
Habib Jahansaz said guaranteed purchases of fresh green tea leaves will be implemented in the second half of the year, alongside financial support for tea growers and factories.
“So far, more than 4,900 loan files totaling 32 billion tomans and over 2,200 insurance cases for tea plantations have been registered.”
He added that fertilizer distribution has begun, while more than 79 billion tomans in capital facilities have been paid through three banks to rehabilitate tea factories.
Total financial support for working capital and factory renewal has exceeded 213 billion tomans, the official said.
