Hormozgan province expects 300,000-ton lime harvest
Hormozgan – Iran's southern Hormozgan Province has begun its annual lime harvest, with production expected to reach 300,000 metric tons, reinforcing its position as the country's second-largest lime-producing region.
Mohammadreza Sheikhzadeh, Director of Horticulture at the Hormozgan Agricultural Organization, said the province has 15,000 hectares of lime orchards, with Rudan County accounting for nearly 11,000 hectares, followed by Minab and Bandar Abbas.
“To support growers and improve productivity, the organization provides technical training on orchard management, irrigation, and pest control, while supplying subsidized fertilizers and expanding pressurized irrigation systems to enhance water efficiency and promote sustainable production.”
