Kerman – The head of the Kerman Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center has unveiled a pioneering device designed to cut date palm offshoots, promising to transform traditional propagation methods.

 

According to Mr. Zohdi, the device was developed by Mohammad Javad Assari, a faculty member of the center’s Plant Protection Research Department.

 

“Drawing on his technical expertise, Assari has created a tool that revolutionizes the separation of palm offshoots.”

 

The invention enhances speed, precision, and safety in the propagation process, offering the potential for healthier orchards and a significant economic boost to the industry,” he said.

 

“Key features of the device include complete stabilization of the offshoot during cutting, prevention of pest and disease transmission via offshoots, and effective protection of the saw blade.”

 

Zohdi further noted that beyond its direct application in date palm propagation, the invention is also suitable for cutting wooden trunks, adding to its versatility and practical value.
