Tehran – The head of the Iranology Foundation underscored the strategic importance of agricultural trade in ensuring national food security and maintaining social stability.

 

During a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agricultural for Trade Development, Ali Akbar Salehi said that agricultural commerce is a cornerstone of Iran's economy, contributing significantly to societal well-being and the protection of the nation's food supply.

In his discussion with Shahrazad Moshiri, he emphasized that it's not only crucial for economic stability and the trade of essential goods but also plays a strategic role in preserving social order and public peace of mind.

Moshiri, for her part, presented an overview of recent developments in foreign trade, stressing the need for smart supervision of supply chain, enhanced trade diplomacy, and a crackdown on speculation and illicit profiteering.
