Planting 20 million saplings in five forest growing areas in
Iran

 The Deputy Minister of Forest Affairs in the Forests,
Rangelands and Watershed Management Organization said: Planting of these seedlings
based on the amount of rainfall in forest areas has started from the end of
December this year with the help of the people and also according to contracts
with contractors and will continue until the end of April.

 Referring to the
five vegetation areas of Hyrkani, Zargarsi, Arasbarani, Persian Gulf - Omani
and Iranian - Turanian in the country, he said: The highest rainfall is in the
vegetation areas of Iran-Turani and Persian-Omani Gulf in December and January.

 He also added that:
We have about 100 nurseries in the region of forests outside the north and more
than 30 nurseries in the north of the country that produce non-productive
seedlings. Bayani also mentioned that: In economic afforestation, dual-purpose
forest and economic species such as almonds, figs and walnuts are planted by
the people.
